Beginnings — 2000

TAGAYA was founded in Surabaya in 2000, starting from a very small office with one-person staff and a simple goal: keep moving forward. The early days were practical and focused — serving initial clients through personal relationships and steady effort. Growth did not happen overnight. It came gradually, built on consistency and trust.

Expanding Horizons — 2002–2004

With growing confidence and experience, TAGAYA expanded operations to Jakarta in 2002 and established its Semarang office in 2004. The motivation was straightforward — to grow, strengthen capabilities, and serve customers better across key port cities in Java.

Expansion was not about scale alone, but about building stronger foundations.

As operations matured, office relocations in Semarang (2014) and Central Jakarta (2020) marked continued development. These moves reflected steady progress — refining coordination, strengthening operational structure, and preparing for greater responsibility in managing international freight.

Resilience Through Change — 2020 and Beyond

During the global pandemic in 2020, when many businesses were facing significant disruption, TAGAYA experienced an unexpected period of growth. Cargo space was difficult to secure and market conditions were uncertain, yet the company continued to obtain vessel space and move shipments forward.

Through experience and strong coordination, TAGAYA navigated the situation effectively. What seemed like difficult timing for many became a moment where preparation met opportunity.
